Jason Kelce’s Retirement Dream Sparks Epic Forge Face-Off: Invited to ‘Forged in Fire’ to Duel Brother Travis in Knife-Making Showdown

Jason Kelce described an invitation to appear on one of his favorite TV shows and compete against brother Travis as a ‘dream come true’.

The legendary Philadelphia Eagles center, who announced his retirement after 13 years in the NFL on Monday, could turn his focus to blacksmithing after hanging up his cleats.

After revealing his desire to appear on the History channel’s program, ‘Forged in Fire,’ the 36-year-old received an invite from one of the show’s judges to come learn the craft.

Edged weapon combat specialist Doug Marcaida extended the offer for Jason to battle against his Kansas City Chiefs star brother Travis at the forge in a video message shared on social media.

‘Congratulations on a historic NFL career and a well-deserved retirement,’ Marcaida began after flinging a blade at a tree trunk.

‘Now, we’ve heard that you might have what it takes to make it keel. Well, if you and Travis ever want to battle it off outside of the field, come on over to our forge, where we might teach you to be master bladesmiths and then find out if it will keal.’

‘You guys are awesome, big fan,’ he added.

‘Forged in Fire’ features world-class bladesmiths competing against each other to create some of history’s most iconic edged weapons.

‘It will keal’ is Marcaida’s catchphrase on the show with keal an acronym for ‘keep everyone alive.’

An excitable Jason eagerly responded on X, formerly known as Twitter, claiming it would be a dream.

‘This is the coolest thing ever, it would literally be a dream come true Doug,’ he wrote, quote-tweeting Marcaida’s video. ‘Even if it doesn’t Keel! But I definitely want it too.’

On Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason told his brother Travis about his post-retirement plans.

In addition to getting into shape, Jason insisted he would make more time for housework to help out wife Kylie.

‘I’m looking forward to do something that’s not football,’ Jason shared. ‘I’ve been so committed to the sport for so long, it’s embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework. Her dad is an electrician, she can fish a wire.’

Travis went on to question Jason’s inability to fish a wire and claimed that he has done the task while fixing his speakers.

‘I’m talking about in walls – she could put in a new outlet if she wanted to,’ Jason said.

‘Shout out to Ky for being the handyman around the hose,’ Travis responded.

‘I like the TV show Forged in Fire,’ Jason continued. ‘I want to go to a blacksmith and make a knife, that’d be fun.

‘Count me in on that one, don’t do that without me. I’m gonna make a sword,’ Travis suggested.

‘A sword is a whole other undertaking, I don’t know we are good enough to make a sword,’ Jason closed.
